We at bookshelf are firm believers in sustainability.  

Our aim is to do away with the culture of buying a book, reading it, only to wedge it back in a bookshelf for the rest of its lifetime.

Rather, we want to give books a second (and third) life, whilst sharing good reads among the bookworm community.

HOW IT WORKS

​

Sign up and upload your books onto our website using the bar code scanner tool.  You have two options.  Choose whether your books will be available for sale or for borrowing.

Each time some one requests to buy or borrow one of your books, you will receive an email with a prepaid label attached.  All you have to do is pop the requested book in an envelope, slap on the prepaid label, and post it in a letterbox.  It's that easy!

1) Selling

Every book on our website carries a value of one token.  Receive one token every time someone purchases one of your books.  This can, in turn, be redeemed for any other book listed on our website, and have that delivered straight to your door.

For every ten books uploaded for sale, you will also receive one token.

​

2) Borrowing

Borrow a book for a period of up to two months.  This period can be extended by a further two months from your account settings.  Once done from the book, simply print a prepaid label and return it back to its owner.

In order to borrow a book, a minimum of five books must be uploaded for others to borrow.
